Why Do You Judge Me?
91You have not walked in my shoes
You have not been down my road.
You have not cried my tears.
You have not carried my load.
Why do you judge me?
You think you know my story.
You think you know my pain.
You think you know my future.
You don’t even know my name.
Why do you judge me?
You were not there to see me stumble.
You were not there to see me fall.
You were not there to pick me up.
You were not there at all.
Why do you judge me?

This was a great reading and listening as well. Love everything in it ! Cheers ! :)
Thought provoking,love it.
Sadly, empathy is often seen as a weakness.
nice piece
...I don't have any idea of what you're going through so I don't have the right to judge you or anybody else! ^_^... nice poem! thank you for sharing! :)
I love this-and I know that song, "Don’t laugh at me" very well (perhaps it is a Texas thing?).
When people take it upon themselves to pass harsh, unjustified judgment on another person, they are truly telling the world how weak they are as a person. When someone is weak, they look for someone to try and hold down to make themselves appear/feel bigger and better. At the same time, when you are the one being harshly ridiculed and judged- you don't feel much stronger than the weakness attempting to hold you. The world would be so much sweeter if people attempted kindness rather than passing judgment on someone when they don't have a clue as to who they are and what they have survived.
Thanks for this hub-sorry for the long winded comment. Rated Up-Bookmarked and Stumbled!
Excellent. And a good question. I love the Charles Manson quote.
A wonderful and thoughful hub. You are so right.
HOY!!! Great post!
hey samboiam..I really love this, not judging people is a huge thing for me. Of course Im a human and I am guilty of having done this, but I do try real hard not to. I think you put it all so perfectly! I was particulary taken by Charles Manson's qoute too. Awesome job.
:) thanks for taking the time to write something for me to read!!
yes, you are right. but, its so easy to do. forgive me .
This is great samboiam, you're good. Who knew Charles Manson had something profound to add to humankind. Just goes to show we can learn from anyone. Very good as usual.
good job, I think we all could judge a little less and look at ourselves first, realize that we aren't perfect either... the whole "cast the first stone" thing is a really good lesson.
I love this! It is truthful!
Working with adults that have disabilities has made me the witness to a lot of judging...One day I was out to eat with a man that needed total assistance to eat a meal. He loved food and especially the food from this particular resturant. While we were eating a woman came up to us and told me that i should not have brought him out in public because others were trying to eat and it was distracting with him around. I really couldn't believe my ears...she judged that man and she hadn't even met him before. It is a sad world....this was a great piece of writing! Thanks for sharing.
this is very good....judgement is an issue for every race...thats the society we live in...and its a damn shame that in 2010 its still so much bull we have to live with...
Great hub with some thought provoking quotes. Keep up the good work.
I feel the same way myself Sam!! I enjoyed this very much!! muah!!!
Well done and thought provoking. Liked it.
i like this poem.it hits home for me
Simply amazing and it is really very thought provoking we all sometimes judge others without thinking about their situation.
Great poem that teaches a useful lesson!
"Do not judge and you will never be mistaken." I hadn't come across that one until this hub. True and profound. Jesus had some good advice too. The story about taking the plank out of your own eye before you try to remove the speck from your brother's eye. There's no missing his meaning.
And the poem was great too. Really great hub.
It took me so long to scroll down to the bottom of this screen that I forgot what I was 'judging' - lol lol
YES you have a very engaging writing style which travels directly to the heart and mind of our poetic souls.
Your hub was well-researched and very thought provoking!
You are the explicit reason behind HUBMANIA!!!!
...AND YOU'RE FROM TEXAS!!!
Long live Billie Joe Shaver and Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys!
Teach me something, Sam. I will sit quietly and listen to your good advice.
I know these things already, of course, but I needed to be reminded of the detriment that harsh judgement can do if I allow it out of my mouth or near my heart.
All things, with the exception of love, must be tempered with moderation, including judgement, but not the self-righteous, self-serving sort; there is no exception for it, either.
You have a lovely poem here and you've done a beautiful job of organizing the hub quotes and videos. You've certainly got a GREEN VOTE UP from me, my friend.
Mother Teresa said "if you judge people, you have no time to love them". anyway i enjoyed the poem, thanks
I just love this. Thanks!
Excellent poem.
Voted awesome.
Very nice, I wish more people could read this--the ones it applies too.
This is the first of your hubs that I have read and I have to say, I will follow you proudly! A most excellent poem with great quotes and videos to back it up! I am voting this up across the board!
This is so good simply because so many can relate to it. That proves you did a great job expressing your toughts and feelings. Keep it up!
Excellent poem and topic. We human beings are always about the judging, much to our own detriment. Beautiful!
excellent poem and its true when you judge the people you don't have the time to love them.
Outstanding!
i get judge all the time
Cheers to you! I respect your attitude in your written words. Without judgement, I commend you! Thank you!
Wow! What a powerful poem and hub you have written. This is wonderful and everyone on Hubpages should read this. Thank you for writing this!
This poem gave me the hit of guilt and shame that I needed to relight the flame inside me. People often suck. I often suck. Thank you. I'm off to console my pen and paper...
Very nice and I feel this everyday. Great poem!

Samboiam, sometimes I think that judgement is human nature. It is only when we take the time to know 'the other' that we find how complicated his path may be.
