My 10 Favorite Bon Jovi Songs

I was raised on country music. As a matter of fact, I cut my teeth on a Hank Williams 8-track. Those who follow my hubs know I was country when country wasn’t cool. But as a teenager cruising the skating rinks, I developed a love for the big hair bands of the 80’s. Groups such as Poison, Skid Row, Aerosmith and Def Leppard. But my favorite of all was Bon Jovi. In my humble opinion, Bon Jovi is the master of the love ballad. Over the past two decades Bon Jovi songs have filled the air waves of our soul and created a wide range of emotions within us.

The band was originally formed in 1983 when Jon Bon Jovi joined guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, Alec John Such on the bass and Tico Torres beating out the rhythm on the drums. Together, they began their pursuit for rock-n-roll greatness and a spot on the charts. In the midst of this grand adventure, the group released albums in 1984 and 1985. While moderately successful, it did not catapult them into the spotlight. However, it was the release of Slippery When Wet in 1986 that caused their musical career to take off. This was followed by another chart topper, New Jersey in 1988.

Over the years their amazing vocals and emotionally charged lyrics have delivered some of the greatest love ballads of all time. Below are my 10 favorite Bon Jovi songs. I hope you enjoy the selections and the trip down rock-n-roll memory lane .
